You KNOW Content Rules, But What About Common Sense?
Posted 13 years ago by C.C. Chapman | 6 CommentsA few weeks back I had the pleasure of speaking BlogWorld and giving one of the morning track keynotes.
I wanted to talk about our themes from Content Rules, but wanted to drive home the point that even with the coolest, most engaging content in the world, it will fail if you don’t use manners and smart business skills to share it with others. To me this is common sense, but in example after example I showed how it obviously isn’t for the brands that are doing it wrong.
I hope you enjoy the video and we’d love your feedback in the comments of course.

Hey there C.C., I dig the video, I actually appreciate your approach quite a bit along with your delivery. My wife and I were at BlogWrold but did not attend any sessions. Thanks for posting this, thinking about checking out your book after watching this. Cheers!! Love that Amber ( @wordsdonewrite ) got up and asked you a question!! 🙂

After google panda update it was quite clear that content is king, now after google penguin update it got more importance in SEO field. Your points are very important and effective to learn about the technicalities of content writing rules.

C.C.,
One of the best things you said about blogging is that it takes a lot of hard work. Â You emphasized there is no overnight road to riches for social media content creators if they hope to monetize it. Â Thank you for saying that, especially for those new to it all.
Just because a blog can be shared at lightning speed via social media doesn’t mean it’ll make money or even build an audience at lightning speed. Â You bridged the gap between those two things and I think it’s an unspoken most people don’t articulate.

Thanks and even after saying all that I had someone who was at the talk email me afterwards and basically asked how to find success faster. *shakes head*
